Latest increase in state pension age led to income poverty rates among 65-year-olds more than doubling

A report that we commissioned reveals nearly 100,000 more people have been pushed into poverty while waiting to collect their state pension.

As a result of increasing the state pension age from 65 to 66 the income poverty rate of single people aged 65 rose from 16% to 38%.
